What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘Grey’? Ladies, if it’s not the dreamy Christian Grey, from the Fifty Shades trilogy … it has to be the dismal state your mane is in.
Thanks to a stressful lifestyle and poor diet, many of us in our 20s and 30s are facing pre-mature ageing of hair. Also, as we age, production of melanin, the pigment that gives hair its natural colour, slows down in our body. All of this result in giving us a head full of hair which is marred at the roots with awkward grey hair or sometimes even full patches of silver.
Of course, the fix seems to come easily to many. In this age and time, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to colouring our tresses. However, chemicals from regular hair-dyeing and constant re-touching put your hair at the risk of damage, resulting in dry, lifeless locks.
But, if you are looking for smart ways to cover up these early unwarranted greys, here are some tips and tricks to take the stress (and years) off your mane.
Beauty Hacks
These sneaky and smart hacks are perfect for those of you who just have a few grey strands and want coverage instantly when heading out.
Mascara: Apart from voluminising and curling your eyelashes, your good ol’ mascara can also turn your greys to black. Use the mascara wand to conceal your roots.
Kajal: Classic black kohl can be used to hide grey roots with a quick application on the culprit strand.
Lipstick: Use a dark brown lipstick to colour your grey strand. Go for matte, no-shimmer lip colour.
